Waipara Hills Wine Estate has won four gold medals at the New Zealand International Wine Show for its 2004 Marlborough Gewürztraminer, 2005 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and consecutive vintages of their Simmonds’ Vineyard Marlborough Pinot Noir.

Gold for its 2003 and 2004 Simmonds’ Vineyard Marlborough Pinot Noir follow three previous gold medals won earlier this year. In June the 2004 vintage won gold at the San Francisco International Wine Show while the 2003 vintage took gold at this year’s Royal Easter Wine Show in New Zealand and the Royal Hobart International Wine Show in Australia.

Waipara Hills’ sales and export manager, Ian Blowers, said the repeat success for a single vineyard variety here and overseas was a tribute to consistency achieved by the grower and winemaker.
